[appearing on Anne's fan phone line]

"Good morning, this is March 21, 1998. This is Anne Rice. Please keepleaving me your messages. They are being recorded and when I get back, I'm going out of town for about a week, when I get back I will listen to everything. I thank you very much for all of your calls. Thanks for your responses to Pandora. I'll be busy this week. I'll be in New York, Vancouver, and I'll be in Victoria. I think we are going to do Charlie Rose's show; We're going to do Rosie O'Donnell I believe on Monday this coming week. I'm not sure. Anyway, it is going to be kind of an interesting week for us and then we will get back to writing down here in New Orleans; It's very green and very beautiful.

On a political note, I wish that the news people would leave President Clinton alone and maybe I could say something on this machine besides political messages but I have to say again that I support the President completely and I think that there is some truth to what Hillary Clinton says that there is some sort of right wing conspiracy that is raking up all this stuff to try to get President Clinton and it is pretty pathetic with all their money with the 40 million dollars that Kenneth Star spent that all they can come up with is Kathleen Willy, Monica Lewinsky, Linda Tripp, and Paula Jones. Anyway, I am on his side. He has the presumption of innocence with me and he also has the fact that I don't care too much about his personal life just as long as he is a good President. One of the most exciting things he did in the last two weeks was talk about extending Medicare to people 55 years old to 65 years old. I think that's wonderful. I think we are in a real medical crisis in this country.

Anyway, I know you guys are probably tired of my political messages but I had to say it again, and I think if we keep telling the press and we keep telling our Congressman that we really really care about the President running the country and being the leader of the free world, I think maybe they will drop all this foolishness about what may or may not have happened for three minutes perhaps behind a closed door with somebody who really isn't at all a very credible witness.

In any event, back to the arts. Thanks for your responses to PANDORA. Take care and I know Monday night is by the way Academy Award night, I am pulling for James Cameron but it doesn't make any difference. We will all see it together and we will all find out. And I'll talk to you soon. Leave me a message after the beep. Thanks a lot. I love you."
